In June of 2021, Royal Philips, one of the largest manufacturers of Continuous Positive Airways Pressure (“CPAP”) machines, recalled millions of Philip CPAP machines. Philips recall of CPAP machines will result in roughly 80 percent of the Philips CPAP machines being recalled across the United States. Philips announced the CPAP recall too late after determining potential health risks caused by the CPAP machines, including potential risks of cancer.
Consumers who have used any of the Philips CPAP products in the past and have been diagnosed with cancer or other injuries can contact Cannon & Associates via phone at (405) 906-4051 or completing the Intake Form on this page to discuss your eligibility and have your questions answered confidentially and for free.
According to Philips, the recall of the product is due to the potential risk of cancer and other health injuries caused by continuous inhalation of degrading foam material (PE-PUR foam) contained in the CPAP machines. PE-PUR stands for polyester-based polyurethane foam, which is the noise dampener used by Philips CPAP machines, which when inhaled or ingested has toxic effects on patients.

Why Philips CPAP Machines Were Recalled?
Philips, in June 2021, issued a voluntary recall of some of its CPAP machines and ventilators. The recall was over concerns that the PE-PUR sound dampening foams included in the machines for noise suppression, has carcinogenic and toxic effect on patients. The foam material is suspected to have degraded in many units and the particles may have been responsible for diverse health injuries, including cancer.
Other health concerns connected to the Philips CPAP recall include:
Chemical poisoning
Kidney damage, disease, or failure
Liver damage, disease, or failure
Migraines
Respiratory illnesses
COPD
Asthma
Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
